The Brac Island is located in the central Dalmatia. It is the larges Dalmatian island (3rd largest in Adriatic Sea), thus highest Adriatic and Croatian island. That fact makes locals very proud! Vidova Gora is the highest peak. It can easily be reached by the car, if you are not a fan of hiking. From there you can enjoy in a truly spectacular view on the surrounding island and Dalmatian coast. You can also enjoy in a view on iconic beach of Zlatni Rat in Bol, which is perhaps on of the most famous beaches in Croatia. Bol on Brač island is one of the oldest tourist destination in Croatia and one of most popular.
Wonderful and authentic small towns
Brac is famous for query of the famous white lime stone. One part of the White House is built from it. All small cities are built from it and they are really beautiful and, you should visit them on your trip to Brač. There are dozens small cities and you should not miss Supetar, Povlja, Pučišća Postira, Sumartin, Milna and of course already mentioned Bol. One housing development in USA even made a partial replica of Supetar, as theirs ideal community.
Gastronomy on Brac Island
Brač is practically divided into two parts. One is inland and other is coastal part of the island. Inland part of island is very rich with diverse fruits and vegetables, that simply tastes better on here. Brač is not famous as Hvar, or Pelješac for vines, but for sure has some great vines. It is abundant with olive oil, lamb, sheep cheese and of course with high quality fish.
