Besides Dubrovnik, the island has become famous tourist destination that attracts famous world celebrities each summer, that usually visits it with theirs large yachts. Because already mentioned sunny days per year, and very fertile soil it is also famous for is high quality wines, that goes perfectly with traditional Dalmatian gastronomic delicacies like first quality sea fish. City of Hvar and Stari Grad are full with famous restaurants, and it is a wonder how all those tourist which are more than 20000 per day in the peak of the season can all fits small bay towns.
It is impossible to visit only Stari Grad or city of Hvar with its beautiful walls from 13th century, while you are visiting island. It would just be a shame and not a full experience of the island. You need to give yourself a time and explore countless of beautiful beaches and try to find perfect beach only for you. Great idea is also to visit near by Pakleni Otoci, one of Croatia’s 7 natural wonder parks. The island is abundant with beautiful destinations that do not attracts so many tourist like Stari Grad or Jelsa and Vrboska. Vrboska is called Croatian Venice because of its sea canal, and it would be a shame not to visit such a tranquil little city that looks like it jumps from a fairy tale.
